NFL Week One Predictions – 2020 Season

As many of you NFL fans know, there have been many trades and free agent signings. With that said, this NFL season is going to be extremely different.

Chiefs Vs. Texans: To start, the super bowl champs can definitely win this game. Patrick Mahomes is a dual threat quarterback with one of the best tight ends and some great receivers on his side. This does not give the Texans much of an advantage, especially now that they lost their best receiver. Overall, there is no doubt in my mind that the Chiefs can start their season off with a win. I mean, if last year’s playoff game, when these two played each other wasn’t enough of an example, then I don’t know what is.

Eagles Vs. Washington: The Eagles have the advantage here with Carson Wentz being their quarterback. Washington does not have a lot going for them from what I can see. You never know though, Dwayne Haskins could have a great game and use what he has to his advantage in week 1, but the Eagles are the superior team in this case.

Dolphins Vs. Patriots: Both these teams have so much potential. The patriots with Cam Newton and the Dolphins with Tua Tagovailoa. To start the Patriots may surprise everyone. People sleep on Cam Newton just because he was injured. Now he has one of the best receivers, Julian Edelman and the best defense in the league to help him. With that said, Tua Tagovailoa is a new quarterback to the league, even though he is recovering from a season ending injury, he could surprise people. The Dolphins also have the running back, Matt Breida and although, he is also injured a lot, hopefully he can go into this new season completely healthy. Overall, I would say that the Patriots will get the win in week one.

Packers Vs. Vikings: As I tell everyone I know, I love Aaron Rodgers, until he plays the 49ers, then I hate him. He has the worst offensive line in the league and is still able to make big plays under pressure and with almost no time. The Vikings do not have an advantage here, unless their defense steps up. I do not think Rodgers and Cousins are compatible. Offensively, the Vikings do not have a chance, so if the they do not improve defensively, then the Packers will win this game, without a doubt.

Colts Vs. Jaguars: As of now, Jacksonville has no advantage whatsoever, in my opinion. They just lost their best running back and do not have a quarterback to get them through the season. The Colts on the other hand have Phillip Rivers and a mildly decent defense. To me easily the Colts will win this game.

Bears Vs. Lions: Every year we see the battle between these two teams. The Bears continue to have the superior defense and they have Nick Foles, the super bowl champ. This year he has a team that can back him up. The Lions, on the other hand, do have potential with Matthew Stafford. Nonetheless, the Bears have all the advantage to me and will be able to win this game. However, the Lions will still put up a fight, as many of us have seen in the past.

Jets Vs. Bills: Last season, the Bills were able to make it all the way to the playoffs, which was surprising, but deserved. Josh Allen balled out and the Bills defense was clutch the whole season. The Jets, did not get that far last year, and I do not think much will change this year. The Bills have a high chance of winning this game.

Browns Vs. Ravens: Okay in my opinion this is an easy prediction. After watching the Browns perform poorly last year, I will say it, the Ravens are winning their first game. The Browns need a dual threat quarterback to be able to get anywhere in this league. They have some receivers that I want to see do well, but with Mayfield as their quarterback, I don’t see OBJ and Landry being able to make moves. The Ravens have everything they need, a dual threat quarterback with Lamar Jackson, a great running back, and one of the best defenses last season. The Ravens have every chance to win this game.

Seahawks Vs. Falcons: Okay, as a 49ers fan, I hate to say this, but the Seahawks will most likely win this game. The Falcons did show out a couple times last season, especially when they beat the niners, but I do not see them being able to keep up with Russel Wilson. I know they have Todd Gurley, but they are going to need a defense to keep up. He is one of those quarterbacks that can come in clutch exactly when you need him to. Also, now that the Seahawks have Jamal Adams, they will be even more of a threat. Once again, I hate to say it, but the Seahawks are going to get a dub from this game. I have to respect true talent when I see it.

Chargers Vs. Bengals: If I am being honest, this is one of those games that I am kind of excited to watch. Being able to watch Joe Burrow’s first game in the NFL is going to be very exciting and going against a team that doesn’t even have their franchise quarterback anymore. Now even though they did get Justin Herbert in the draft, I am positive the Bengals will win this game. The Chargers do not have a chance. I will say, there is a big difference between college football and the NFL, but Joe Burrow showed talent that I have seen in a college player before.

Buccaneers Vs. Saints: I will be completely transparent here, I have never been a Tom Brady fan, but I will say this was an interesting move for him. This is definitely a game I will be watching. Now to start, The Buccaneers are a threat to the NFL now with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. They have always been a threat with the Patriots, and now it will be no different. The Buccaneers also have some receivers that have potential, such as Godwin (had him on my fantasy team last season and was not disappointed). Nonetheless, the Saints also have an incredible quarterback. It will be a tough game, but I think Tampa Bay will come out on top after this game.

Cowboys Vs. Rams: As a 49ers fan, I hate it, but I truly believe that the Cowboys are going to win this game. Prescott is not a quarterback that can do much, but the Rams fell off so hard last season, I do not see them going anywhere, especially because they do not even have their best asset, Todd Gurley (the most surprising trade I witnessed). The Cowboys may not have much going for them to make the playoffs this year, but they at least have enough to beat the Rams.

Steelers Vs. Giants: Last season we had to watch the Steelers without their starting quarterback, but now he is back and this gives the team a little more potential. With James Connor and Juju Smith, the Steelers should have a decent season. To me this is an easy decision, even though the Giants have Daniel Jones and he did play pretty well last season, he did not have a team to back him up. The Steelers will most likely get the dub to start the season.

Titans Vs. Broncos: Just like last year, I think the Titans can surprise people because they still have a monster for a running back and a defense that helped them last season. The Broncos on the other hand, are trying to improve their offense as much as possible with their new quarterback. It does not seem like they will be able to do a lot this season, but who knows. With that said, the Titans will win their first game against the Broncos.

49ers Vs. Cardinals: Okay as a 49ers fan I have watched the battle between these two teams too many times. For some reason, it is always the most difficult challenge for the 49ers to go up against the Cardinals. This game is going to be even more difficult for the 49ers now that the Cardinals have DeAndre Hopkins, he is a great receiver and it only gives the Cardinals more of an advantage. However, if the 49ers defense continues to stay strong, then they can overcome the Cardinals offense. Overall, I think the 49ers will most likely win this game, but if they do it will not be by much. A field goal honestly…

Let’s not forget anything can happen in football, but this is just my opinion. Honestly, this first week is going to be extremely exciting for me. I hope you enjoyed my predictions and if there is anything you want me to talk about just let me know.
