49ers vs. Packers: Well, this week the 49ers have lost most of their offense with either injuries or players testing positive for COVID. This means that the Packers will have the full advantage. Nick Mullens will be starting for the 49ers and just like Jimmy G, he cannot handle pressure. The 49ers defense is going to have to stop the Packers from moving the ball if they want to have a chance, but that is not likely. I think the Packers are going to win. They have Aaron Rodgers, and even though he struggled last week against the Vikings which resulted with a loss, this week he should be able to get the Packers in place to score.
Ravens vs. Colts: Last week the Ravens proved that their offense needs some work. Lamar Jackson had a 46% completion rate and threw two interceptions, but this was going up against one of the best defenses in the league and his offensive line did not protect him as well as he needed, with 4 sacks allowed and 9 QB hits. The Colts also have a superior defense, so this is going to be another tough week for the Ravens offense. I think that the Colts are going to win just because of how their defense has been able to dominate within this season, but it is still up to Phillips Rivers to be able to get the Colts in scoring position.
Giants vs. Washington: With the worst offense and one of the best defenses in the league, the Washington Football Team is definitely interesting right now. However, I will say Kyle Allen is doing pretty well, considering the circumstance, with 4 touchdowns and a 99% passer rating for his time playing this season. On the other hand, Daniel Jones may have lost to the Buccaneers last week, but also has been playing well, with 256 yards and two touchdowns. Nonetheless, I think even though Washington is ranked with the 2nd best defense in the league right now, the Giants will win this week.
Bears vs. Titans: The most surprising thing from last week was the tough loss the Titans had to the Bengals. Now the questions is, will this week be the same? Well, the Titans offense is still considered superior, with Ryan Tannehill being able to throw for over 200 yards and get at least two touchdowns in his last three games. Another aspect of this offense is Derrick Henry who was able to get 119 yards last week. Let’s not forget that the Bears have Nick Foles and even though he may not be performing to the high standards of the Titans offense, he is able to get the ball moving and get the Bears in position to score. Although, Foles does through a pick every game, so that could hurt them this week. Even though they had a tough loss last week, I still think the Titans will win this game.
Lions vs. Vikings: With Matthew Stafford being placed on the Lions COVID/Reserve list, it is unknown if he will be able to play this Sunday. With that said, if he is able to play, I think this could make for an interesting game. Matthew Stafford has been fairly consistent this year with passing for over 200 yards and scoring at least one touchdown every game. The Vikings have not been as consistent, with Kirk Cousins having some pretty tough games this season. He has been known for throwing a pick almost every game, which proves to be detrimental to the Vikings. Their defense is below average, while being ranked 24th in the league and has proved that they cannot stop other teams from scoring, so it is all up to the offense. Now, with that said, I think that Vikings will be able to win, but it all depends on how being on the COVID/Reserve list affects Matthew Stafford.
Panthers vs. Chiefs: With the number one offense in the league, the Chiefs continue to have the upper hand each week. Patrick Mahomes threw for 416 yards and got five touchdowns last week. The Chiefs are also ranked 3rd for passing and 9th in rushing, so it all comes down to defense for the Panthers. Well the Panthers defense will definitely put up a fight like they did against the Falcons last week. They did not allow a single touchdown from Matt Ryan, but let’s face it, he is not Patrick Mahomes. I think that the Chiefs offense will be able to get a win this Sunday, no matter what.
Texans vs. Jaguars: Both of these teams have had some tough weeks, so they are both desperately looking for a win. The Texans offense continues to be able to score, but just not enough. Coming off their bye week, they should be feeling ready. Deshaun Watson has thrown for over 300 yards and a completion percentage of over 70% within the last 3 games. The Jaguars quarterback, Gardner Minshew II, only threw for 173 yards in week 7 against the Chargers before going on their bye. Both of these teams have low ranked defenses, so it honestly could be anyone’s game, but I think with how Deshaun Watson has been playing, the Texans are going to win.
Seahawks vs. Bills: Last week, the Seahawks proved that not only is their offense superior, but their defense is improving. Russel Wilson threw for 261 yards and got four touchdowns, with D.K. Metcalf getting 161 yards and two touchdowns. The Seahawks defense also got a forced fumble and an interception from the Jimmy G, all while holding the 49ers to 27 points. The Bills also have an above average offense, but even though they won last week against the Patriots, there is still some room for improvement. Josh Allen only threw for 154 yards with a 61% completion rate. Overall, with how the Seahawks have been dominating this season, I think they will win, as long as their defense holds back the Bills.
Broncos vs. Falcons: Last week, the Falcons were able to get a win, with Matt Ryan throwing for 281 yards and a completion rate of 70%. Julio Jones was also able to get 137 yards with a catch percentage of 70%. This offense is proving that they are able to move the ball and get into scoring position, so it all comes down to defense for the Falcons, which is still ranked as the worst. This will most likely go into the Broncos favor considering they do not have the best offense, but Drew Lock has still been able to get over 200 passing yards within the last two weeks. Overall, I think that the Broncos can win this, as long as they take advantage of the Falcons poor defense.
Raiders vs. Chargers: Last week the Chargers were not able to get the win and it all comes down to their defense. Justin Herbert was able to get the Chargers up to 30 points, but their defense could not hold back the Falcons. Although, Herbert did throw two interceptions, but made up for it with his three touchdowns. The Raiders however, were able to hold back the Browns to only 6 points last week, which demonstrates how their defense has been doing well this season. I will say though, Derek Carr only threw for 111 passing yards and one touchdown, so it could make for an interesting game. Just by looking at this, I think that the Raiders will be able to win, especially if their defense steps up.
Steelers vs. Cowboys: Well, with how the Cowboys have been playing without their starting quarterback and even their backup quarterback, I do not think this offense will be able to do much. Ezekiel Elliott also did not have a great week with only 63 rushing yards. The Steelers, on the other hand, had a great week. Their defense was able to hold Lamar Jackson back to only 208 passing yards and got two interceptions from him. I think it does not matter how good the Steelers offense is at this point, as long as their defense continues to ruin the rhythm of it’s opposing team, then they will continue to win games.
Dolphins vs. Cardinals: The Dolphins once again proved that they are able to get the best of any team they want. Their defense was able to get 4 turnovers from the Rams last week, which means that this week, the Cardinals need to be ready. The Cardinals offense has been able to do a lot, especially because Kyler Murray is known for running the ball. If the Cardinals do not want the same outcome as the Rams, they need to be able to hold onto the ball and not let the Dolphins defense get a hold of it. Overall, with how the Cardinals have been playing, and Kyler Murray passing for 360 yards last week, the Cardinals should be able to win.
Saints vs. Buccaneers: The Saints offense has had its up and downs this season, but last week, Drew Bree’s was able to get the best of Bears. He threw for 280 yards with a 75% completion rate and two touchdowns. Nonetheless, Tom Brady was also able to do the same with throwing for 279 yards with a 70% completion rate and two touchdowns. The Buccaneers also have a defense ranked 7th in the league, while the Saints defense is ranked 5th in the league, so this will be interesting. This game will probably be up to whoever’s defense can stop the other from scoring and because of that I would go with the Saints to win this Sunday night.
Patriots vs. Jets: Now even though the Patriots have had a tough couple of weeks, this should be a break for them. The Jets are still left with the worst offense and one of the worst defenses in the league, while being 0-8. This means that all it takes it for the Patriots to win is for Cam Newton to take advantage of this below average defense and remember to hold onto the ball! We do not want to see another fumble that makes them lose the game again. Like I said, with how poor the Jets have been performing, the Patriots should be able to win.
